Welcome to the Fetal Alcohol Syndrome Support Site. This web site is a supplement to our award-winning Fetal Alcohol Syndrome Multimedia Guide, funded in part by the National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism, a division of the National Institutes of Health.
The goal of this project is to increase awareness of Fetal Alcohol Syndrome (FAS), especially among foster, adoptive, and biological parents and to provide support for seeking a thorough and accurate diagnosis. An effort to develop easily accessible, easy-to-use materials on treatment and management of children prenatally affected by alcohol is also underway.
In addition to information about the Guide, the site contains basic information and illustrations about Fetal Alcohol Syndrome (FAS) and its diagnosis as well as links to further information for parents, care providers, and health professionals.
